Development storyThe Snowspeeder concept model belongs to Kenner’s second major wave of vehicle development, when The Empire Strikes Back forced the company to translate a new set of spacecraft into toys before the film’s product line was fully ready. The model was hand-built as a three-dimensional stand-in for the future toy. Concept models like this could be used to evaluate proportions and features, but they were also valuable to sales and marketing teams that needed photography before hardcopies or first shots existed.…
