Star Wars Early Bird Certificate Package

The Early Bird Certificate Package is one of the defining artifacts of Star Wars toy history: Kenner sold a promise at Christmas 1977 because finished action figures were not yet ready.

The original package and the later fulfillment sets are separate collector records. The mailed figure sets connect the marketing solution of 1977 with the first figures reaching households in 1978.

The Ranney Index also separates documented fulfillment configurations, including the Double-Telescoping Luke example, rather than treating every Early Bird set as identical.
