1979 Vintage Star Wars Toys
By 1979 the Star Wars line had moved beyond its launch phase into a broader ecosystem of characters, vehicles, playsets and retailer-specific configurations.
Boba Fett entered the collector story, large vehicles and playsets became centerpieces, and international licensed programs continued to diverge in packaging and distribution.
Retailer multi-packs and special offers also became an important part of the surviving record, making 1979 especially rich for configuration-specific collecting.
