1978 Vintage Star Wars Toys
1978 is when the Star Wars toy line became a full-scale collecting universe, with action figures, vehicles and playsets reaching multiple markets.
The first figure families established the 3¾-inch scale that would define the line, while vehicles and playsets expanded the play system around them. International partners such as Palitoy, Kenner Canada and Takara created distinct local release histories almost immediately.
