Yoda, The Jedi Master — Fortune Teller was one of Kenner’s stranger Empire Strikes Back novelty products, using Yoda’s newly established image as a playful answer-giving or fortune-telling device. It belongs in Character & Novelty rather than Games because the product is centered on a character-themed novelty mechanism rather than competitive play. Complete survivors should retain the original working mechanism, printed answer elements and package materials; wear, fading and mechanism failure affect condition but do not create variants. Its eccentric concept gives it stronger historical personality than its simple construction might suggest and makes it an important example of how widely Kenner stretched the Star Wars license beyond action figures.
