R2-D2 Switcheroo
Kenner issued R2-D2 Switcheroo in the United States in 1980 as the first documented U.S. issue of this product/configuration. R2-D2 may be the one Star Wars character who makes perfect sense as a light switch. Kenner's R2-D2 Switcheroo, sold during the Empire Strikes Back period alongside C-3PO and Darth Vader versions, turned ordinary household wiring into another place for the astromech to appear useful. The product is a genuine separate retail item, not merely a graphics variation on one generic Switcheroo, because the character-shaped presentation itself changes. One of three separately sold Kenner Switcheroos.
