R2-D2 Bop Bag

R2-D2 became one of Kenner’s smaller 'Lil Bopper' punching bags, standing at roughly 36 inches rather than the approximately 50-inch Big Bopper format used for Darth Vader and Chewbacca. The self-righting weighted base made the droid an unexpectedly physical play toy despite the character’s noncombat role on screen. Its smaller scale is a meaningful product attribute and should be stored explicitly rather than treating all Bop Bags as one size. Surviving examples are vulnerable to air leaks, seam failure and base problems. Original box condition and whether the bag has ever been inflated will become important Step 3 collector distinctions. This Repackaged Release is cataloged separately because its year, packaging or offer state is collector-relevant. Ranney Rank follows the underlying physical product unless a documented construction change exists; Collector Index and market confidence remain release-specific.
