Hoth Turret Defense
Hoth Turret Defense is one of the most substantial individual battlefield environments in Kenner’s 1982 Micro Collection. Built from thirteen environment pieces and centered on a Rebel trench with two destructible turrets, the set turns the defense of Echo Base into a compact war scene rather than a single isolated action moment. The hidden-button damage features are the heart of the toy. Kenner understood that Hoth is memorable partly because the Rebel defenses are systematically overwhelmed, so the turrets were designed to be attacked, triggered and knocked out. The battlefield therefore behaves like a battlefield. Instead of merely placing figures around static scenery, a child can arrange the defenders, press the hidden controls and watch the position collapse under Imperial assault. Six painted die-cast figures populate the set: Luke Skywalker on Tauntaun, Han Solo, a Rebel Comman This is the documented first commercial issue for this territory and anchors descendant packaging, variant and reissue records.
