These terms govern use of the public Ranney Index Master homepage and its general informational pages. Specialized research indexes maintain separate terms for their research services, access, and memberships.

Purpose of the website

The Master website introduces independently developed research archives and offers general information about Ranney Index. Its content is for information, research, and commentary; it is not a professional appraisal, investment recommendation, engineering certification, or guarantee of any outcome.

Accuracy and updates

We work to document sources carefully, but information may be incomplete, disputed, revised, or become outdated. You are responsible for independently verifying information before relying on it for a significant decision.

Permitted and prohibited uses

You may browse the publicly available pages for lawful personal and research purposes. You may not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, submit spam or harmful content, impersonate others through its contact channels, or reproduce protected original material beyond applicable legal permissions.

Separate indexes and memberships

Following a link into an individual research index may take you to a service with its own conditions. Membership prices, payment methods, refunds, renewals, cancellations, and access entitlements are governed by the terms presented by that specific index. Research and contributor submissions

Each index may invite documented corrections, historical sources, photographs, and other evidence. Submission does not guarantee publication. You must have the authority to provide material you submit. Unless a separate agreement provides otherwise, you retain ownership of original material you create; permissions for use are considered independently of factual research submissions.

Original research and database protections

Original editorial writing, Ranney Perspective commentary, research organization, classification structures, proprietary assessment methodologies, and original artwork remain protected to the extent permitted by law. Ranney Index does not claim ownership of facts themselves, or of third-party names or images. Substantial copying, automated scraping, mirroring, harvesting, or commercial redistribution of protected index content is not permitted without authorization, except where applicable law allows it.

Service availability and changes

Research indexes are living archives and may revise records, classifications, features, references, and conclusions when new evidence is confirmed. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every observation, ranking, or market estimate will remain unchanged.

References and links to third-party names, companies, sources, and websites are provided for research context or convenience. They do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or control over third-party material.
